WINDSORS GALA OPENING WINDSOR, Ont., June 16.— Windsor ushered " in the local season of racing with one of the e largest crowds that has attended a race e meeting in a good number of years. Weather r conditions could not have been improved d on and the racing stiip was at its best. The feature race on the program was the Gadsden n D 1. Bryan Memorial Handicap, with a value e of ,500, over he mile and a sixteenth distance. »- There was a field of eight named overnight, t but Wandering Minstrel and Corporal declined, * , leaving six to try for the prize. Mrs. s B. E. Chapmans good Canadian-bred NesJon n Kay accounted for this event, scoring by a a scant margin over Trickly Heat, from the ie e H. Smith stable, while Mrs. w. J. Potters •s Brilliant, making his first appearance in Canada this season, was third. Duchess was claimed out of the last race :e by C. Des Rosiers for 51,300.
