BI.AH raced close up under restraint and. after passing SCOTLAND FOREVER, outfinished BENEDICT VOW through the final sixteenth. BENEDICT VOW set the pace, was headed by DOCTOR GLENN, but took the lead again and kept it gamely to near the end, then gave way. DOCTOR GLENN raced forwardly all the way and took the lead at the half mile, but began tiring in the final drive. FLAGSHIP made up some ground. SCOTLAND FOREVER raced poorly and quit badly. FAUSTO and CI.EO were off poorly. MEKNES. close up from the start, passed I. DAVIS, tWen passed ETHEL GALLIGER Into a long lead and won in a canter. GOLD MINT had to race on the outside, but gained gradually and held REPROVE safe. The latter was outrun to the stretch, then came fast between the leaders and got up to nose out ETHEL GALLIGER. The latter showed the most early speed and set a good pace to the stretch turn, then tired. TORCH began slowly and closed up ground in the last quarter. BLACK AGATB and I. ELIAS O. began moving up fast after going the first five-eighths and, saving ground on the inside when the Uaders came wide when entering the stretch, came through into the lead and outfinished HIGH LIFE The latter raced close up on the outside and was forced out by SALUTATION when entering the stretch, then took the lead briefly, but was outfinished. LUCENT raced well and nosed out SALUTATION. SALUTATION set a good pace to the stretch turn, but tired then and ran out badly. PENGUIN showed early speed, but was done after going the first three-quarters. MEMORIA showed the most early speed and, forcing the pace after being headed, was gaining on the winner at the end. SHASTA LAD ran a good race, but lacked good racing room on the back stretch and again in the home stretch, hut made a game finish. MEDLEY had no mishaps and was gaining on the leaders at the end. HELENS BABE raced in closest pursuit of BROADSIDE to the stretch turn, then moved past the latter into a good lead, but began tiring in the last sixteenth and just lasted to outfinish BOBASHELA. The latter was kept in a contending position for the first three-quarters, £*si moved up fast in the stretch and easily passed BROADSIDE and was gamely wearing the winner down at the end. GALAHAD was far out of it and badly outrun for the first seven-eichths. then began gaining and, finishing fast, outstayed the others.
