LATONIA TURF NOTES | 4 Q LATONIA, Ky., June 21. Racing secretary William H. Shelley this morning was called upon by B. L. Squires, agent of the J. S. Cosdens stable, for verification of the eligibility of Darkness for the Latonia Oaks. The daughter of Snob II. — Thunder Cloud is eligible for the stake and, in view of the inquiry, is looked upon as a likely starter in the fixture. M. Flynns Port Harlem was shipped last night to Fairmount Park, where she will contest Saturdays renewal of the Illinois Stakes. She went in charge of Freddie Fuerst and ■will be ridden by T. Magulre in that stake. Because of the uncertain track conditions at the Collinsville track the juvenile fillies Veneita M. and Maria Nash, eligible for the same stake, will not participate in the race. They were to have been shipped today. H. P. Headley came up from Lexington to witness the initial performance of his colt Sandy Shore in the second race. While several of the A. B. Lotcllier and A. J. Stallings horses may be raced at Race-land during the coming meeting, a majority of them will be given a rest at Churchill Downs during July and August.
