MAJESTE had much the best of the start and. under a vigilant ride, held the lead gamely for the entire race and outfinished HER ANSWER. The latter, away well, was repeatedly taken back and finished fasr when ridden hard in the stretch. HAL SIDE GUT raced close up most of the way, but tired in the last eighth. CRACK WILLOW raced well. HAYMAKER, away forwardly and racing well in the going, raced into the lead quickly, saved ground where possible and outfinished BILLY BASIL. The latter began well, but was taken back and raced wide on the turns, then closed a gap, but tired slightly whin he appeared the winner. HIDDEN THOUGHTS raced well, but tired in the lat eighth. CELERITY was prominent most of the way. SHASTA PLUM was done after going the first quarter. ROYCROFTER. also away well, raced close up and passed TAKE A CHANCE in the stretch. TAKE A CHANCE was close up it the early running, but tired fast in the stretch. ELIKIN br-gan in a tangle, but was going well in the stretch. LADY PARTRIDGE found the going too difficult and tired after going the first quarter. ETHEL SHERLOCK splinted into a long lead at once, but could not withstand the winner. BAD LUCK raced fairly well, but had to be ridden hard in the stretch to outfinish BEARING. Won easily: second and third driving. INQUISITOR, away well and given a good ride, passed ADAMAS in the first half and won going away fast. ADAMAS raced into the lead with a rush and, after belag paaseA, rac: d well through the stretch and had little difficulty in saving second place. DARK PHANTOM was away slowly and in last place in the first sixteenth, then moved up fast around the last turn, but tired badly all through the stretch and ran far below her best form. KNAVE OK CLUBS showed the most speed and. but for l eing taken into the deep going in the stretch, would have won. SANCTION set the early pace and raced prominently through int. BALL GEE began slowly and was always far back. LITTLE GUINEA also began slowly and closed up sorte ground, but was raced in the deepest going. 9. fiCCCA SEVENTH RACE— I Mile Inner Course. The latter raced wide most of the way and showed a winning performance. FAR AWAY was well up throughout. DANTE was going strong at the end.
