HAMILTON TURF NOTES $ • HAMILTON. Ont., June 28. Two claims were filed in the third race today, and those to change ownership were Taurus and Successor, the latter going back to his former owner, C. Ferraro, for the same price that he was secured for by J. E. Smallman two days ago, while Mr. Small-man retaliated by landing Taurus from R. H. New for his entered price of ,000. Charles McLennan, who has been employed in the racing secretarys office at Hamilton, will be absent for the remainder of the meeting, as he has been called to Lincoln Fields to assist W. H. Shelley to prepare for the meeting that is scheduled to open Monday. C. L. Whiting came up from Rochester, N. Y., to look over the horses he is campaigning on the Canadian circuit, under the supervision of Tim Donohue. James Healy, Sr.. Charles H. Fleischman and E. F. Sanford were arrivals from Aqueduct and the trio was seen among the club house visitors. G. W. Foreman purchased Fornovo from C. I. Wilson at private terms, and the new acquisition performed for his former owner in the final race today. Jockey C. Hall was suspended for the remainder of the meeting, in addition to being fined, when he was found guilty o. crossing over on Girasol at.d Bucephalus in the running of the third race Wednesday. Frank P. OConnor, owner of the Mary ale Farm Stable, after several weeks of dickering for the services of Swept as a brood rhare, finally made his mission good when he purchased her from T. Elward for a consideration that was not made public. Swept at the present time is in foal to Old Koenig, the sire of Young Kitty, and she will be sent to the Maryvale farm at once.
