ANGEL BRIGHT, racing in his best form, was in closest pursuit of the leader to the strtt.h and, in a hard drive, wore down GOTTA GONOW. The latter raced into the lead and set a good pace to nt-ar the end, then failed to withstand the winner. LADY EMBLEM raced forwardly, saved ground on the inside, but could not overtake the leaders and tired. ASSOCIATB raced well throughout and had no misiiaps. FOCUS, outpaced for the first half mile, came fast on the stretch turn, wore down the leaders rapidly in the final eighth to win going away. BLUE BLOOD raced close up all the way, forced the pace and held on well. BLACK NAN displayed the most early speed and showed the way to the final eighth, but tired. PERFECT MODEL saved much ground and came again to finish close up. BOBBY BASIL gained gradually, but tired when close up in the final drive. SERGEANT SETH also tired in the final sixteenth. FRIGHTFUL took the lead going to the first turn and, racing gamely, soon shook off ERIN GO BRAGH. winning all the way thereafter. JACK DOR moved up fast entering the stretch, could never menace the winner, but outfinished ESCARRA easily. ESCARRA, far back for the first three-quarters, closed a big gap and finished gamely. OCEAN CURRENT could never reach the leaders, raced far out of it and showed a decided dislike for the going. COCKNEY tired badly in the stretch. The latter raced well on the outside, was taken through the worst of the going, and tired in the final drive. BOURBON ran well and finished fast. GOLD MINT never threatened. RUNAWAY PRINCESS quit. HENGIST moved up fast after racing the first half mile, but was held safe in the late stages. EI.LY XEY had no mishaps and waa outrun. ARCH QUEEN quit. MIRACLE raced on the outside, came fast entering the stretch and, offering a strong challenge, outfinished LUCKY DRIFT. The latter forced a good pace to the stretch, tired, but held on fairly well. SANDY LADY rai-ed well and had no mishaps. MARABOU tired after setting the early pace.
