WITHOUT A FAVORITE Kentucky Derby of 1930 Still Lacking in Pronounced Choice. Flying- Heels, Desert Light, Dedi-i cate and Gallant Fox Remain on Top at 10 to 1. The Kentucky Derby still is without a pronounced favorite in the future betting:. Not one of the several original equal choices lias been affected by whatever betting has been done in the Kearney book to date. According to the latest announcement. Flying Heels, Desert Light. Dedicate and Gallant Fox remain at 10 to 1, which were the opening odds against them. There has, however, been a new acquisition to the ranks of equal choices. This is High Foot, the Colt which performed brilliantly at New Orleans. The first odds against him ;were 12 to 1 ; he now is offered at 10. The most drastic change made in the price against any that seemed to be favored in the first slate affects Jim Dandy, the Jim Gaffney colt, which has been running at Agua Caliente. It seems that the Kearney book found itself far out of line on him, for lie was first quoted at 10 to 1 and now is as high as 400 to 1. There has been an upward trend in the odds against some of the second and third choices. Ned O., first quoted at 12 to 1, is now 15 ; Spinach went up from 15 to 20, Grattan from 20 to 40, Sarazen II. from 20 to 40, Gallant Knight from SO to 40. Gone Away remains at 20. Crack Brigade remains at 30. Crossbones remains at 40. There apparently has been a little action on All Upset and Alvin Ranshaw. The opening price against each of these was 100 to 1 ; each has been cut to CO. Swinfield. Sydney and Tannery remain at GO. Breezing Thru remains at 40. With the exception of High Foot and, possibly, Michigan Boy, the eligibles that have been racing during the winter have failed to impress, judging by their neglect in the future book. Hatrick. Tonto Rock, Good and Hot and Jim Dandy, all of which raced at Agua Caliente. went far up in price. . The following are the latest quotations: Horse. Win. Place. Show.
