DIXIE HANDICAP OBJECTIVE Mason and Hanger to Send Victorian to Maryland for Rich Race. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 5. Silas Mason and Arnold Hanger, local patrons who maintain Dundreath Farm, and the pretentious AVarm Stable, trained by Tommy Taylor, are looking forward to the impending renewal of Pimlicos coveted Dixie Handicap, the next important engagement on the program for Victorian, winner of the Agua Caliente Handicap. Victorian, now at Churchill Downs, is reported in good condition by trainer Taylor, and, with several of his stable companions, leaves the Louisville track for Pimlico about April 15. Following the Dixie Handicap, Victorian will be returned to Churchill Downs for the Grainger Memorial Handicap and at the end of the Downs Meeting goes to Washington Park, along with the others making up the big stable. The Nut, Billy Champ, Cady Hill and some highly regarded juveniles will assist Victorian in carrying the Warm Stable colors, and while jockey C. Turk is with Taylor, George Ellis, who was astride Victorian in the Agua Caliente Handicap, will guide him in his important engagements. Taylor reports Cady Hill, recently operated upon for a throat ailment, is improving and looks for Billy Champ to come to hand in time to start in some of the important early stakes for three-year-olds. It is of interest to Churchill Downs and Latonia patrons that Victorian will return from Maryland for the Grainger Memorial and also travel from Chicago to Latonia for the Independence Handicap, the valuable fixture to be run at the Covington course on July 4.
