BABY BLUE, close to the leaders from the start, obtained a short lead after going half the way and held MISS LESTER safe in a driving finish. The latter held on with rare courage in the stretch run, but was not good enough to overtake the winner. SADDLE SKIRTS was close up to the stretch, then tired. IMITATOR quit.
