STAKE DATES AT BELMONT Complete Program for Spring and Fall Meetings Announced. Belmont Stakes to Be Decided June 7 and Futurity September IIP Lord Derby Guest of Honor May 19. NEW YORK, N. Y., April 17. Stake dates for the spring and autumn meetings of the Westchester Racing Association at Belmont Park have been selected. The spring meeting of twenty-three days duration runs from May 15 to June 10,. while the fifteen-day season in the Fall is from September 1 to September 17. Many important and historical events will be renewed at the big Xassau County track during the racing year, but the red letter days are June 7 and September 13. The June date marks the running of the Belmont Stakes, the biggest race in New York state for three-year-olds. It will be run in conjunction with the National Stallion Stakes, a feature for juveniles. On September 13 the world-famous Futurity Stakes, the greatest of tests for two-year-olds, will be revived. The same day the Grand National Steeplechase, Americas most valuable cross-country contest, will be decided. Other conspicuous dates on the Belmont Park stake calendar and the reasons therefor are May 21, Metropolitan Handicap ; May 30, Suburban Handicap ; May 31, "Withers Stakes ; June 4, Coaching Club American Oaks ; September 6, Lawrence Realization, and September 17, Jockey Club Gold Cup On May 19 Lord Derby, who is coming to the United States to witness the Kentucky Derby, will visit Belmont Park. As a compliment to the famous English sportsman, the Sansovino Handicap will be the feature event. This is a one mile race for three-year-olds and upward for a purse of ?2,500 added. The event is named for the thoroughbred, Sansovino, which won the Epsom Derby in 1924 under Lord Derbys colors Following are the Belmont Park spring and fall dates, with 1929 winners indicated: SPRING MEETINGS.
