INTERNE followed the early pace closely and, coming fast in the stretch, canght YANKEE JOE In the last few strides. YANKEE JOE displayed the most early speed and had a good lead entering the stretch, but tired badly in the run home. CLUWAK went fairly well. OUR BAGGAGE quit badly. CIIIVA made up ground from a very slow beginning. CADMEADO was practically left at the post. WINNOW unseated her rider and ran away a mile before the start and had no chance after breaking badly. FAIRY MELODY came with a rush on the outside in the stretch drive and, under hard urging, caught TECOLOTE in the last stride. The latter, racing well up from the start, headed the others a sixteenth out, but could not last. JOE G. and LITTLE PAT were used up forcing the pace and both tired. FLY AVOOD finished very fast. COBRA met with early interference and was never dangerous. THUNDERLAND was all over the track. PORT CAPTAIN saved ground and got to the front on the stretch turn, only to tiro badly.
