r $, $ TORO REPORTED IN SPLENDID CONDITION $ HAVRE DE GRACE, Md., April 17. There need be no apprehension of Edward B. McLeans Toro coming back this year and proving a factor in the handicap division. Trainer Schorr brought him over from Pimlico Wednesday, and he was worked after the first race, covering a mile and an eighth in 1:54 with the utmost ease. Slowly cantered around the track, accompanied by a lead pony, Toro broke at the furlong pole in the front stretch and, swinging along for a first quarter in :24 he went to the three-eighths in :3C, half in :48, five-eighths in 1 :01, three-quarters in 1 :14, seven-eighths in 1:27, and the mile in 1 AlVs. He was going smoothly at the end of the mile and an eighth, and came out of the move in no way distressed. This was Toros final for the Philadelphia Handicap, to be run here Saturday.
