Second to her was the lightly weighted Dark Angel, and R. E. Scholls Mote was third. Pickerel won her first start of the year when she led her field in the first race, over a distance of five and a half furlongs. She went to the front soon after the start and survived a drive in the stretch. Forluck beat out the tiring Little Cook, which had been an early factor. Mabel Seth was an easy winner in the second. She forced the early pace, then assumed the lead in the stretch and drew away. Shorty was second and Don T. closed well to finish third. Paquette, a Pagan Pan filly, which was very successful in her Wheeling racing, made a winning start here by taking the third race, which was for three-year-olds exclusively. Thomas Patrick was second and Ima Hat third. Oblique, after showing good speed, had a close call in the fourth race, but managed to hold on to win from Lower Five. The latter had to overcome interference and he was going very fast at the end. Parisette tired after being a keen factor. Paternal came fast after having had a rough trip.
