Won easily; second and third driving. -AVALON, displaying high speed from the start, went into an easy lead, saved ground all the way, and drew out easily near the end. SPIRIT RIVER worked his way up on the outside, came with good courage at the end, but could not menace the winner. SALISBURY raced forwardly throughout and continued gamely for the final drive. WALTER K. was hard urged from the start and showed a good -i performance. STAR POLLY began tiring when the real struggle came. ABITIBI was unable to threaten . the leaders. MAGOTFIY tired. MALOLO began slower than usual, was forced to the outside .for racing room, circled his rivals with a rush and, getting up on even terms with SUNVIEW inside the final eighth, drew out fast through the closing stages. SUNVIEW showed good speed from the start, set a good pace and held on well when overtaken. STUPENDOUS, hard ridden throughout, was unable to improve her position and was easily best of the others. DREANA LEE began slowly, but went into a good position after the start and was making up ground slowly at the end. HAZEL GUMBERTS was outrun. BATTLER tired from forcing the pace. FAIR ANITA showed no speed at any stage. BATTLING ON, quick to settle into his stride, was sent into an easy lead after the first sixteenth, was rated along thereafter and came away when MUCKER challenged in the last eighth. The latter, steadied in pursuit of the leaders, saved ground when entering the stretch, made a bold challenge at I the final eighth post, but was held safe thereafter. CHATTERING, unable to keep in early contention, came to the outside and finished with good energy. SHADY LADY offered good contention for five-eighths and tired. The latter, rated near the leaders, responded when called upon, but appeared to tire in the M last eighth. CALOME, well up from the start, made a determined effort on the last turn, but tired a under punishment. NAYLOR, slow to start, closed some ground in the last half mile. The latter, forced to withstand early contention from EASTER, disposed of the latter and tired in the final eighth. FLASHING, slower than usual in the early stages, came with good speed in the final drive. JOHN ROBERTS passed tiring, horses in the closing stages. FAIR FOLLY was used up racing in early contention. The latter, close up, made several challenges and continued gamely. GUNTHER, well up, was unable to improve his position when put to a drive. CUDGELLER, in much trouble for the first three-eighths, went to the outside when clear, reached the front with a belated burst of speed, but tired when inside the last eight. REALTOR went into a good k- lead, saved ground, but tired when the final drive came. PAT CALHOUN raced forwardly and met C with no mishaps. IMMORTAL could not get to the leaders.
