e "BOOTS" DURNELLS CASE UNDER INVESTIGATION g LEXINGTON, Ky., April 21. It was learned on good authority that several of the trainers whose applications for licenses under the State Racing Commission were ordered held up for further consideration by the governing bodys license committee will be interviewed. Reports have it that C. E. Boots Durnell will be among them. Durnell, licensed in Kentucky the past several years, is among those whose applications are held up pending further consideration. Nothing official is forthcoming with regard to Durnells case, yet track rumors anent it include one to the effect that the racing commission and its license committee are desirous of ascertaining Durnells status with The New York Jockey Club before acting upon his application. Reports further indicate that Kentuckys turf fathers have instituted steps to definitely acquaint themselves with particulars of the rumored Durnell-Jockey Club split and, if such holds true, the desired information may be in the hands of the commission when it assembles to supervise the racing at Churchill Downs.
