i MERRY WINDSOR IS WINNER Beats Some of Best Sprinters at " Wheeling" Lucky Drift Wins Fourth WHEELING, W. Va., April 21. Merry Windsor, J. T. Irelands Black Servant filly, after twice running second in good company in her races here, came through to victory this afternoon when she defeated a band of good sprinters in the sixth race. Gideon was second and the eight-year-old gelding, Lancer, finished in third place. Braedalbane, the aged Jack Atkin horse, came right back from his unsuccessful effort of Saturday and won todays first race with no difficulty at all. The only real contest was for second place, between Platoon and Vitalize. Platoon moved up on the inside in the stretch and outlasted the filly, which had forced the early pace. Vladimir closed well. Going in his best form, the Westy Hogan colt, Toltec, won the second race. He made a very strong finish, racing up on the outside of his company and drawing away as the end was reached. Royal Bells met with some hard luck at the far turn, but closed resolutely and beat out Alice Herx, which tired after having been well up. Buchon carried 11G pounds and proved best in the Louisville Purse, which was run as the third race. He went at his best in the early stages but had to be hard urged to remain in front of Bright Flash, which was a. strong factor all the way. Tuberose finished very fast after being in close quarters. Lucky Drift won the fourth race, scoring her third victory of the meeting. Dr. Hickman was second and Timekeeper third. k-
