CLEVELAND TRACK HEAVY Late Withdrawals Reduces Field in Feature to Five Alcmnu Carries Colors of Phil Chlnn to Vic ¬ tory Arcgal Finishes Second Sun Memory Graduates THISTLE DOWN PARK Cleveland Ohio June G Owing to late withdrawals follow ¬ ing the changed condition of the track which was heavy the field was reduced to five starters in the fifth race which attracted the best field of the day at Thistle Down Park this afternoon The winner turned up in Phil Chinns Alcman which showed the way practically throughout Aregal came from the rear in the last half mile and eventually outlasted Gallardo rather handily for the second portion of the purse purseAlcman Alcman began none too quickly but jockey D Bryant rushed him through next to the inner rail going to the first turn Once in command he raced Grand King into de ¬ feat then drew away into a long lead en ¬ tering the stretch In the final furlong Aregal came with a brilliant rush which forced Alcman to a drive near the end to score by a half length Gallardo was eas ¬ ily best of the others having raced promi ¬ nently in the last half mile mileRain Rain last night rendered the track heavy and an additional shower came following the running of the first race The sun shone at intervals during the afternoon but a strong wind swept the course from the west The attendance was up to the stand ¬ ard for a midweek day dayThe The colors of W S Kilmer were much in evidence today His Mint Hussy graduated from the maiden ranks when she wore down Delco Del during the stretch drive and got up to earn a close verdict in the last few strides of the initial race Delco Del appeared all over an easy winner entering the stretch but failed to withstand the winners chal ¬ lenge The Fives came from far back to be third thirdTaking Taking command at once Sun Memory made it a double for the Kilmer stable when he won the second race with much to spare drawing away in commanding fashion in the stretch This also marked the initial success for the son of Sun Briar Elizabeth Sullivan a factor in the early stages was no match for the winner but retained a safe margin over the remainder throughout the stretch for second place Easter Morn came from far back to outstay Doctor T for the short end of the purse purseSeths Seths Companion came outside Hhe leaders after making the far turn in the third race overhauled Milano entering the stretch and drew away into an easy lead thereafter Milano tired after having set the early pace and eventually gave way to Paddy Flaherty in the stretch for the second portion of the purse
