GALLANT FOX MONEY EARNINGS 198730 Gallant Fox brilliant threeyearold son of Sir Gallahad HI Marguerite owned by William Woodward of New York increased his total money earnings for his two and his threeyearold campaign to date to 198 710 by winning the Belmont Stakes His previous triumphs this year occurred in the Wood Memorial Stakes Preakness Stakes and Kentucky Derby He is only the second horse that has won the Preakness Stakes and Ken ¬ tucky Derby in one year and in addition set a time record on the good track at Bel ¬ mont Park for the Belmont Stakes when he ran the one and a half miles in 2 31 It was the fifth renewal of the race over the increased distance but Blue Larkspur in 1029 Vito in 1928 Chance Shot in 1927 or Crusader in 192C failed to run the distance in as fast time as 232 Crusaders time being the best previous to Gallant Foxs
