STABLE TWO HORSES BURN Fire Destroys Peabody Barn and Consumes Valuable Im ¬ ported Filly The famous Arrowbrook Stables at Lemont 111 owned by Stuyvesant Peabody presi ¬ dent of the Lincoln Fields Jockey Club were destroyed by fire early Saturday morning and two of the prominent sportsmans two yearolds one an imported filly were cre mated matedLemont Lemont is about twenty miles from Chi ¬ cago The Arrowbrook Stables were built by Mr Peabody in 1927 and the value of the building was estimated at about 50000 The stables adjoined a training track of an eighth of a mile mileThe The imported lilly which met death in the flames was Bossie Hattie by Golden Boss Lady Hatton Mr Peabody seemed to at ¬ tach a greater value to her than to the stables which will be rebuilt at once The filly is said to have given promise of great things in her training this spring and Mr Peabody was expecting to point her for some of the major stakes for threeyear olds next year The other victim was an un ¬ named yearling The older Peabody horses are stabled at Washington Park Among them are T S Jordan Martie Flynn Mc Gonigle and Flat Iron IronCrossed Crossed electric wires are said to have caused the fire which was discovered at about 7 oclock a m by Mrs Robert McGarvey wife of the trainer of the Peabody horses The flames spread so rapidly that the en ¬ tire building containing forty large box stalls was consumed before fire fighting apparatus could reach there from Lemont LemontStuyvesant Stuyvesant Peabody is president of the Illi ¬ nois Turf Association and vice president ot the Washington Park Jockey Club
