LOLTS O., starting fast, took the lead with a rush and went into a commanding lead before they had gone an eighth and held the others safe thereafter. SEMESTER, hard ridden making the turn into the stretch, gained fast because Guerra was easing the winner. PLAYALONE was driving hard to withstand NIGHT VINTAGE. JUSTA SHADE, close to the pacemaker until reaching the stretch, wore down the leaders when put to a drive and, outgaming JALPUR, was up to win in the final strides. JALPUR, quick to start, sprinted away from the others in the first eighth and looked to be the winner, but tired badly. DONATE raced on the outride of the leaders throughout. ROYAL PANOPLY, saved in the early stages, moved up gamely when called on and, taking an easy lead, drew away without effort. TAZEWELL, outrun early, worked his way up on the outside and closed fast. PIPEDREAM was made too much use of setting the pace. ROYAL CHARGE, in close quarters, was buffeted about on the back stretch and Peee was forced to pull up. JUST BELIEVE, racing improved, took the lead with a rush and set a fast pace and, withstanding a hard stretch drive, outlasted SUN CRAIG. The latter, a bad breaker, dwelt when the barrier was sprung, but closed a big gap and finished fast on the inside. SIR JOHN ALDEN tired when called upon. INFERNO LAD tired. MATE, rent into a forward position going to the far turn, went to the outside of the pacemakers and continued on the outside when moving up on the far turn and. wearing down CLOCK TOWER approaching the stretch, showed good speed thereafter and held TWENTY GRAND safe. The latter, badly bumped and knocked off his stride at the clubhouse turn, recovered gamely, went up on the inside again, was then blocked by his stablemate SURF" BOARD at the head of the stretch and, responding gamely under punishment, was wearing down the winner. LADDER, taken under restraint in the early stages, had clear racing room all the way and foueht it out stubbornly. EQUIPOISE swerved out at the start and Workman was forced to Straighten him out, then went in a jam at the first turn, but fell back into racing stride quickly: challenged gamely repeatedly, but tired at the end. SIR JAMES, taken off the pace, trailed his field until rounding the far turn, where he moved up on the outside and, closing courageously, wore down the tiring leaders and was up in the last stride. GOLDEN PRINCE gradually improved his position, wore THE HEATHEN down, but hung in the final strides. THE HEATHEN hustled to the front, drew away from his opposition and set a fast pace for five-eighths, when he tired. CON AMORE had a rough journey. Scratched— 58624 Blimp, 102; 586273Essare, 110. REDCLIFFE came through on the rail on the stretch turn and challenged gamely at the eighth post, but tired in the stretch. GUILFORD outlasted STELVIO. CLEMENCE showed early speed.
