The latter, close to the pacemaker on the outside, lost ground on the stretch turn, but finished gamely under weak handling. SKIPPY L., shuffled back after the start, improved her position steadily. VOILA, in closest pursuit of the pace from the start, saved ground and outlasted SHAWNEE in the final drive. The latter, under restraint until called upon, finished gamely. LITTLE NAP was crowded back after the start. RED FLARE was outrun. BRAMABIAU crossed over sharply after the start and caused crowding. SANDY was forced to take back when crowded. The latter, fractious at the post, broke through the barrier and ran away a sixteenth then moved up fast on the outside when called upon, but tired at the end. CAPLIN saved ground and finished fast.
