CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES f $ $ LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 9. Jockey Willie Gooler was suspended for three days by starter Hamilton for disobedience while at the post Friday. John Schank, president of the Chicago Business Mens Racing Association, was among the prominent early arrivals for Derby week. He reported Chicago enthusiasts more keenly interested in the Derby than ever before and looks for the Chicago delegation to prove the largest on record. G. E. Lewis is training three good looking juveniles by Altawood, the great cup performer, for Joseph Widener and C. Bruce Head, standing at the latters Waldeck Farm. The youngsters are colts from Critical Moments and Honey Lou, and a filly from Brimful. The Critical Moments colt is one of the best conformed and mannered youngsters on the grounds. Clyde Phillips could not resist seeing Sunny Lassie, the filly he developed for Mrs. Wm. Ziegler, Jr., in action in the Kentucky Oaks and detrained from Maryland last evening. Tomorrow and Monday he will inspect some of the breeding stock to be sold in Kentucky next week and returns East in time for the Belmont Park opening. The Southland Stables Real Pardner injured herself while in her stall and will not resume racing for a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Stuyvesant Peabody motored from French Lick in time to witness the Saturday program and aside from absenting themselves to attend the J. N. Camden sale of bloodstock Tuesday, will remain until after the Kentucky Derby. Robert McGar-vey, trainer of the Peabody horses, got in from Chicago. W. R. Herring turned Hiram Kelly over to Joe Kederis to train and he will be campaigned at Washington Park. O. A. Bianchi, former trainer of the gelding, shipped to Bainbridge Park.
