MADDEN SILKS IN DERBY The Mongol or Conscience May Represent Hamburg Place in Saturdays Big Race. LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 14.— There have been frequent runnings of the Kentucky Derby when eligibles have been sent to the post to satisfy the vanity of a nominator, rather than with any hope of winning the great classic. There have been sportsmen who have gladly paid the starting fee merely for the gratification of seeing their silks in the distinguished ■ impany.
