Won easily ; second and third driving. LENA M. took a clear lead when WAR NYMPH tired and held LENNY in a hard stretch drive. The latter saved ground on the stretch turn and challenged gamely in the final eighth, but could not get up. CHRYSANTHEMUM, starting from outside the machine, was practically left and showed a remarkable per- ormance to be a fast going third. WAR NYMPH met interference from the winner on the far turn and Ired. FOREIGN BET was fractious before the start and was never dangerous. MARGARET PARKER raced fairly well under a rather timid ride. FAY HAMILTON disposed of the others in the final drive. LA FIESTA was shuffled back after the start. GOODBYE SUMMER was never a factor. KING CHEROKEE outbroke the others and opened up a long lead at once, but was tiring at the end and barely lasted. WATCH ON, much the best, began poorly and was outrun to the stretch, then came fast and, taken to the outside in the last eighth, closed resolutely and would have won in another stride. PALMETTE TANGLE tired after setting the pace. WATAUGA began well, but could not keep up. BABY BANE followed PALMETTE PANGLE closely in the early racing, then quit in the last eighth. BOZO acted badly at the post and was started from outside the machine, then raced into contention and, continuing gamely after meeting interference from the winner on the far turn, raced well to the end. JACK ALEXANDER could not keep up with the early leaders and tired in the last eighth. HAPPY HANLY showed a dull performance, quitting badly in the stretch.
