BILLYCOO sprinted into a commanding lead shortly after the start, saved ground until entering the stretch, was taken out into the middle of the track and was under pressure to withstand TOUT FEU. The latter, shuffled back early, came through in the last half mile and closed stoutly. KENTUCKY LAD, taken back early, responded to urging and closed fast. DAME BRAGWA1N finished gamely. OBSERVATION improving his position gamely, came to the outside and was overtaking the winner. TORRENCE finished with good courage, but could not menace the first two. CZARINA closed a big gap. OPTICAL was guided into the deepest going entering the stretch and tired. WINSOME quit early. IRAQ had no speed. GRAND DUCHESS, placed forwardly, was held safe when put to a drive. STAR tired when put to a drive. MY LAVA was never a factor.
