Leading from start to finish, he defeated six other eligibles for the Thomas Curran Memorial, coming two-year-old fea-lt ture, and scored by five lengths over Prince Hotspur, with Cathop third. The winner was coupled with Easter Time, and was considered previously to the contest, to be the weak member of the entry, but Easter Time finished far back, while Band Time was successful. Band Time took the lead at once, with Easter Time second and Anthony Wayne, Prince Hotspur and Tellico in close attendance. Band Time continued to lead to the stretch turn, while Tellico lost all chance at this juncture when he was carried wide by Eas-f ter Time, allowing the ultimate winner to increase his lead. Anthony Wayne moved into second place when straightened out in the stretch, with Prince Hotspur third, and the latter gained the second award when outfinished the Collins and Hardy racer. It was the second victory in three starts Band Time, and he and his companion were favored. They paid .86 to win. R. Finnerty was the winning jockey. SCRATCHES NUMEROUS. The track was very heavy this afternoon, and as a result scratches were numerous Many horses entered seemed to dislike the going, and several finished far back of the leaders.
