BOURBONITE, quick to get going and kept close up for the first quarter, gradually improved his position on the inside and, racing into the lead, held ESSENTIAL safe. The latter lost ground throughout, but held on gamely and outstaed ELKHART. The latter moved up fast entering the stretch, then tired. TRUE PLAY rushed up fast on the inside on the far turn, had no mishaps and held on fairly well. DAD MEINERS began well, but dropped out of it on the turn, but closed much ground in the stretch. GLYNHURST began slowly and was never a factor. COLETOWN showed the most speed from the start, ran out badly entering the stretch and was eased up in the closing stages. TRY IT. crowded back after starting fast, trailed far out of it for half a mile, but closed with exceptional speed and. coming through on the inside, wore down BLACK COMET. The latter forced the early pace under restraint, suffered mild interference from DON ALVARO on the stretch turn and, drawing clear, held on well, but was not good enough. CAMP PRINCE worked his way up fast after the last quarter, but tired near the end. DON ALVARO showed good speed, saved ground early, but swerved badly when tiring. BAND TIME, extremely well suited by the footing, quickly sprinted into the lead, easily increased his advtantage entering the stretch and, maintaining good speed, won in hand. PRINCE HOTSPUR, hustled along throughout, saved ground on the stretch turn and closed gamely. CATHOP began slowly, also saved ground and, closing fastest of all. headed ANTHONY WAYNE in the final strides. The latter raced well up, saved ground, then tired. TELLICO showed speed from the start, was forced very wide by EASTER TIME on the stretch turn and sprawled badly in the closing three sixteenths. The latter, taken back approaching the turn, bore out slightly and tired after moving up on the outside in the last three-sixteenths. FAIR MISSIE began fast and stumbled in the stretch. MISS BESS began fast, but, unable to keep up, remained a good distance back for the first five eighths, saved ground while working her way up on the lower turn, then closed fast to wear down WEE DROP and pulled up lame. The latter, taken back after a quarter, was rushed into an unnecessarily long lead on the stretch turn and tired badly after a mile. PLAYFELLOWS DREAM dropped back after half a mile, but saved ground thereafter and outstayed the others. REVERBERATE had no mishaps. PLAY BALL, close up from the start, suffered through repeated swerving of CLEMENCE and tired while racing on the inside in the stretch. CLEMENCE, hustled into the lead, followed a weavine course most of the way and tired after seven eighths. ARCADIAN FLAG quit badly. VOLT METER was outrun. BLACK THUNDER was far back after three-eiehths. HOMEWOOD. racing improved and taken into the lead, set the early pace under good ratine and. holding on well under strong hand riding, withstood the challenge of WIZARDRY and won drawine out. The latter moved up entering the stretch, swerved when shaken up briskly and tired. HAM. close up from the start, suffered interference from WIZARDRY in the stretch and held on fairly well. DEVON, restrained far out of it under a poorly judged ride, closed fast when urged in the last three-eighths and was stroneest of all at the end. STAR PLAY quit. BRIDEGROOM was outrun. AVIATOR began slowly and tired after moving up on the stretch turn.
