SATURDAYS LOCAL FEATURE Sixteen Star Juveniles Named for ,000 Thomas Curran Memorial at Washington Park. HOMEWOOD, 111., June 12.— Without exception the best of the western juvenile colts and geldings of the season to date are scheduled to meet at the five and one-half furlongs distance in the renewal of the ,000 added Thomas Curran Memorial Stakes, featuring the Saturday program of the Washington Park Jockey Club. Proteus, double stakes winner, heads the field of sixteen and must carry the top weight of 125 pounds. Easter Time and Band Time, the brilliant Dixiana pair, are others among the real stars of the field, and the combination of two such capable performers is likely to rule favorite. Prince Hotspur, Adobe Post, Tellico, Suns Son, Cathop, Texas Knight, Prince Farthing, Dyak, Barashkova, Cold Check, By Wire, Anthony Wayne and F. Grabner are others named for the fixture. This will mark the third running of the stake, won last year when it was worth ,230 by Schooner, and Caruso captured honors in the inaugural running. It is the fourth of six stakes to be run during the current meeting at the Homewood course and, offered under favorable conditions, should prove one of the real attractions of the season.
