HOMEWOOD, 111., June 12.— The Mongol, chief reliance of the Madden Brothers, own- s ers of Hamburg Place, for the 0,000 added c American Derby to be renewed at Washing- t ton Park next Saturday, gave evidence of his readiness for that one mile and a quarter t test when he worked one mile and a furlong t in 1:56%, very handily, over the Lincoln c Fields track this morning. The son of Sir j Martin and Yellow Jacket ran the half mile t in :494/t, three-quarters in 1:15% and the y mile in 1:43.
