THE WHIP, close up on the inside, finished resolutely to outlast GUNTHER. The latter challenged gamely in the stretch, then tired. FLY GUY raced WRESTLER into defeat and tired. DISAP* PROVED showed early speed. WRESTLER quit. WONDERFUL dropped back and lost ground on the turn* then quit badly. INDIAN WITCH showed speed for half a mile, then quit. SKYWAY, rushed into command after the start, saved ground on the turns, but bore out steadily in the final eighth and carried WESTKO wide, but was disqualified for fouling. WESTKO, closest to the pace, moved up on the outside in the stretch and was carried very wide. BUBSY C, on the outside from the start, was guided to the inside at the eighth post and finished fast. CARNIVAL showed early speed and had no excuses. DARK ABBOT worked his way up on the inside, then quit. MAYBE, a factor, quit under urging. THE WISS had no mishaps. SYMBOL had no excuses. DUNSTAN improved his position on the outside and. coming around the leaders entering the stretch, outlasted HIS LAST in the final drive. The latter dwelt at the start, came through on the inside and i went around BLACK AND BLUE entering the stretch, moved :nto command, but swerved toward the inside at the eighth post, but came again at the end. ROBRACK was outrun early and closed ground. BLACK AND BLUE raced SQUEEZE PLAY into defeat and was bothered slightly when HIS LAST swerved. Overweight — Black and Blue. 3 pounds. -
