DESERVE moved up resolutely on the outside on the stretch turn and was up to win in the closing strides. LITTLE TURKEY held the lead temporarily a sixteenth out, but could not match the winners final challenge. BLUE JACKET saved ground on the last turn and hung on gamely. FORTUNATE ONE showed good speed throughout. LOGWOOD showed early speed and raced well for half a mile. VISIONARY came through on the inside approaching the final turn, saved much ground entering the stretch and finished stoutly. ATLAS began well and had no excuses. PATRICIA AGNES, always prominent, was on the outside on the back stretch, saved ground on the last turn and hung on gamely inthe final drive. SUGARLAND raced well throughout and fin* ished resolutely. ARDMORE raced evenly. WEST POINT closed fast. GENERAL CLINTON tired. DOUBLE DARE, rated in behind the pace, moved through sharply on the inner rail on the final turn responded to punishment to draw into the lead and was going steadily at the finish. MISS CHINIQUY im« proved her position after passing the far turn while racing on the outside, was temporarily in the lead, but could not match the winners challenge. ROSINANTE broke forwardly and raced well all through, closing strongly. ALGARA was in close quarters on the far turn, but raced well thereafter. SKIRT showed good early speed, but tired in the final eighth. LADY ESSINGTON went in improved form. STRONG TACKLE ran away three-quarters of a mile before the race after unseating his rider and again threw his rider when, the break came.
