COOPER PILOTS TWO WINNERS Embankment Wins Vaudreuil Purse and Graduates From Maiden Ranks at Hamilton Track. MONTREAL, Que., June 26.— Marking the second victory of the afternoon for the tracks leading rider, the diminutive Reggie Cooper, J. F. Byers Embankment won the Vaudreuil Purse, feature of this afternoons racing at the Dorval track, and emerged from the maiden division. The son of Bridge of Erin had been to the post but twice before, but, due largely to the presence of Cooper in the saddle, was well backed and scored handily from a good band. The winner had to be best, for he began rather slowly, was forced to the outside on the first turn and raced on the outside in the back stretch to finally dispose of Fair-dale and Atlas. Opening up a safe lead approaching the final turn, Embankment swung wide there and Visionary was rushed through on the inside, looming up menacingly as a result. Cooper went to the whip as Visionary gained and Embankment responded gamely, hanging on to score by less than a length. Atlas was a distant third. Wu was a disappoint-ment. He pulled up sore.
