WINNER OF SPEERS HANDICAP WINNIPEG, Man., June 26.— Modern Times, a three-year-old filly owned by Gay and Burright, carried 126 pounds to victory in the Speers Handicap at Whittier Park, Winnipeg, on Thursday afternoon. The race, which was the main event of the spring season here, was worth ,210 to the winner. Captain Eatons Guilder was second, with Paula L. taking third.
