I LATONIA TURF NOTES f # . — — ® LATONIA, Ky., June 26. The Howard-Carreaud-Saxton Stable, one of the largest on the grounds, arrived this morning after a fast run from Washington Park and all of the twenty-four horses shipped in good style. Islam, Jean Lafitte, Black Diamond, Double Heart and Port Harlem were among the two dozen. Jack Howard and Mrs. Howard motored from Chicago Heights yesterday and F. A. Car-reaud was due today. Jockey Charles Corbett, the stable rider, left Homewood by motor this afternoon. Divisions of the Gallagher and Combs and W. F. Axton stables also unloaded from Washington Park this morning. The remainder of the horses to be raced here by the stables come in Sunday. Spud, Monks First and Loras Ormont remained at the Homewood track for engagements under the Axton colors and Sewell Combs kept five at the Illinois course. The western division of Colonel E. R. Bradleys stable is due Sunday morning from Washington Park in charge of William Hurley. It will embrace Bide a Wee, Broad Meadows, Buckeye Poet, Burgoo, By Mistake and twelve two-year-olds. Additions to the stable may be made from among the horses at the farm. Jockey J. Smith accompanies the stable here. Roscoe Goose with his public stable is another scheduled to reach here Saturday. He has the horses of C. W. Hay, E. M. May, Laffoon and Yeiser, R. L. Woodward, P. F. McFarland and Thomas Piatt. R. Yelton and G. Elston are the riders in Gooses employ. W. Sims registered The Southerner, Port o Play, The Duke, Elkhart, Ikard, Beaver and Manikinn for racing under the orange and black colors of R. C. Thatcher, Colorado patron. Apprentice E. Neal, who fractured an ankle in an accident the closing day of the Churchill Downs meeting, expects to resume riding tomorrow. Lamar Herdeen will make his engagements. Jim Robertson, a colored exercise boy in the employ of the Southland Stable, received severe injuries while astride Bachelor Romance. The boy was breaking the two-year-old frcm the five-eighths post when he ran out and crashed into Tappanagh, from the Audley Farm Stable. W. Smith, who was astride the latter, went down as well as the horse, but they escaped injury. Robertson was sent to a local hospital. E. C. Anthony, after a visit to his home and a trip to Windsor, Ont., for a conference with H. Massey in regard to the breaking of the Massey yearlings, returned here this morning. He has Chanson and Aristocrat here for Massey. Tom Sanford has the horses Sis Agnes, Old Nan, Sambo Brown. Old Cally, Eight o Four and Old William here for James Browns Brown Hotel Stable. The horses Jesse Spencer brought from Chicago were Willa, Banset, Peach Rose, Japlac, Sweet Joe, Bibi, Tiger Prince, Skrip, Liquidate, Big Shot, Dell Dale, Prince Dale. Sweet Tom, Gay Miss, Mag Merilies and Flash o White. The horses Grover Hughes vanned from Lexington were Midi, Brown Money, Drury and Black Vest.
