f~" ARLINGTON PARK N0TES~] ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., June 26. There will be a walking ring in the paddock at Arlington Park this season. In this ring for five minutes before post time, fields, big and small, about to start in all races, will walk uncovered, for public inspection. Jockeys will mount their horses in the ring and ride them out on the course for the customary single file parade past the grandstand. Vice-President Charles Curtis, racings most enthusiastic votary in high public life, will be the guest of Albert D. Lasker, one of the directors of the Arlington Park Jockey Club for two or three days toward the end of next week and he will attend the Arlington Park races July 4, which will be marked by a revival of the appropriately named Stars and Stripes Handicap. Christopher J. FitzGerald, who will serve in the stewards stand at Arlington Park during the thirty days racing that will begin Monday, arrived here Friday. FitzGerald brings word that eastern representation in Arlington racing this year will be vastly greater than it was last season. Word came from Belmont Park early in the afternoon that William R. Coes brilliant sprinter, Black Majesty, will be out for the Inaugural Handicap, in which his burden will be 113 pounds. Under the personal direction of John Hertz, who is such a flying enthusiast that he rarely rides in railroad trains any more, the landing place for airplanes at Arlington Park has been levelled perfectly and two cinder runways of 3,000 feet each have been laid down. Arrangements are being made for flying service to Arlington Park. Herbert Bayard Swope, who owns Seb, Lativich and several other horses, is expected from New York Monday. He will spend the first week of the Arlington meeting at Leona Farm. A large number of horses belonging to H. Teller Archibald, Admiral Cary T. Grayson, Archibald Barklie, Charles Nuckols, Norman Church, E. P. Prichard, Mrs. Emil Denemark, Max Syufy, W. G. Yanke, L. W. Johnson, John Marsch, William Reed, George Wingfield, J. J. Greely, Breckenridge . Long and J. E. Keiser arrived at Arlington Park this morning. Siskin, Cousin Jo, Morpheus, Burning Up, Tannery, Weideleen, Plucky Play, Eskimo, Flag Time, Sun Dot, Retort and Rokeby were among the more or less famous horses reporting.
