f HIALEAH PARK TURF NOTES v s William H. Pierce, chief inspector for the Florida State Racing Commission at Hialeah Park, announces that all owners and trainers badges are exempt from the gate tax. These badges are issued upon presentation of occupational tax receipts by horsemen and persons who have paid occupational tax are not required to pay the tax upon their badges. Joe Edwards Don Pablo spread a foot in the running of the first race Monday and will be thrown out of training for some time. Hialeah Park programs have been revised to include a column showing the weight on and off the scale of each horse. The names of the jockeys have been taken from the left hand side of the sheets and dropped under the panel alloted to each horse. W. T. Anderson received word that his good three-year-old, Cabezo has arrived at Agua Caliente for his engagement in the Agua Caliente Handicap. The colt shipped well. Cabezo is by Carlaris, an imported English horse which won the Coffroth Handicap for Anderson several years ago. George Land is here waiting to hear from an eastern sportsman regarding taking over some horses that are being wintered at Belmont Park. Land, one of the wests successful trainers, severed his connection with the Knebelkamp Stable, January 1, Dewitt.Page and Fred Fischer, prominent in General Motors, were club house visitors. Both are enthusiastic sportsmen and plan to remain until the conclusion of the Hialeah meeting. H. Teller Archibald, who has not missed a meeting at Hialeah since that track was built, is here from Virginia. The Archibald horses are here in charge of J. I. Smith. Clyde Phillips was an arrival from Havana, where he has been vacationing. Phillips has thirty-five horses in training at the Ziegler farm at.Middleburg, Va. The entire band will be shipped to Bowie in a couple of weeks, where they will get their final "prep" for Marylands big meeting. George Palmer has returned to his home at Havre de Grace. Tommy Rodrock, who looks after the K. E. Hitt racers, motored down from the Hitt farm in Virginia, and will remain for a week or ten days before returning North. q Rodrock has twenty horses in training for the Hitt stable. Edward Seagram is here for an extended stay. The Seagram colors will not be seen in action this winter. At the conclusion of the Bowie meeting the Seagram Stable was shipped back to Waterloo, Ontario, where, they went into winter quarters. The latest reports regarding a meeting ling full-brother to The Spirit, by Buceph-ten days will be given there the last part of March,
