FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES Jockey T. May bruised a foot while astride Defier in the fifth race, and had to cancel the mount on Brinkley in the closing race. The following ruling was announced by the stewards today: "Investigation into the rough riding in the seventh race of February 24, convinces the stewards that jockey H. Thomas was blameless. The suspension of six days against him is accordingly rescinded." W. Sims registered a call on the services of apprentice J. Hernandez for the General Beauregard Claiming Stakes, for which Sims is pointing R. C. Thatchers Chokolos-kee. Entries for Sundays charity program will close at 10:30 a. m., Saturday, and those for the regular Monday card at 11 a. m., Saturday, and will be released immediately after being compiled. Stall application blanks for the coming inaugural meeting of the National Jockey Club at Sportsmans Park, the new half-mile track at Cicero, 111., made their appearance here today. Further assurance that the Agua Caliente Jockey Club will go through with the remainder of its advertised program for the current meeting was conveyed to horsemen here in messages from Tommie Gorman, general manager of the Caliente track. Mr. Gorman hopes to attract Wc-tan, Lucky Tom, Spcnish Play and Jimmy Moran for the Acand Agua Caliente Handicap, and in telegrams to owners of those horses said, in part "Can positively guarantee you now that handicap will be run as announced, and that all stipulated conditions will be carried out. Weather has cleared and our crowds have picked up wonderfully. Looks like we should have a brilliant finish after a most, strenuous season."
