ANTHONY WAYNE showed good early speed, opened up a long lead in the .first five-eighths, but was not equal to the winner when challenged. SUN TEATIME saved ground throughout, but could not overhaul the leaders. PREPARE finished resolutely from a slow start. AXENBY quit. RUBRIDGE had no excuses. FAIR BLANCHE, close up early, tired in the final quarter. LUCKY RACKET showed dull form and was never a serious factor.
