Tfair grounds turf notes I v$ J. D. Larkin reported that Motive bled after returning to the stable following the first race yesterday. The horse Yeggman, in F. Sansones stable, was found in a serious condition this morning. V. Rousse.ll resumed riding today after spending three days on the ground for breaking up a possible start. T. P. Martin and G. Arnold, down for rough riding, swing back into action tomorrow. B. Baughmans Dixie Dan is to be fired, according to present plans of trainer D. Mc-Dermid. Copies of the fifth issue of conditions, to cover the programs from February 28 to March 5, inclusive, were distributed today. Friends of Joseph Weidekamp, brother of Erwin Weidekamp, who is in charge of the mutuel departments at some of the Kentucky and Illinois tracks, will be pleased to know that he is enjoying greatly improved health following a long illness at his home in Louisville. C. H. Knebelkamp was advised of the death of Shasta Prune at Oriental Park and serious illness of Lightning Jones at Churchill Downs. Little hope is held out for the latter, which raced with inuch success. The further entry of Prometheus was ordered refused by the stewards for his "un- certainty as a racing proposition." The stewards placed the blame for the crowding in the stretch that marked the second race on Eddie Martin "and suspended him for ten days, and E.? Johnson-was given, five days for rough Tiding, astride Maud Bagley in the third race. : Jockeys H. Tinker and H. Thomas, whose rough riding in the seventh race Thursday was the most flagrant witnesed this season, drew suspensions of six days each.
