I HIALEAH PARK TURF NOTES Captain James Wright, who is in charge of the track police at Hialeah Park, was presented with a gold tie clasp by the men under his command. Mrs. L. A. Livingston, who maintains a large breeding farm at Cobourg, Ontario, was a visitor at Hialeah Park. Mrs. Livingston formerly owned the Rancocas Farm at Jobstown, N. J., and disposed of the property to Harry F. Sinclair. Jockey J. Pollard, who commuted to Cuba to ride F. A. Carreauds Kincsen to be second in the Independence Handicap, returned to ride at Hialeah Park. Apprentice R. Martin, in the employ of P. B. Codd, applied to the Hialeah Park stewards for a license. Trainer J. W. Healey shipped nine horses, which have been under his care at the Hialeah Park meeting, to the Benning track, near Washington, D. C, to freshen them up for the opening of the eastern campaign. Contract employers of apprentice jockeys are requested to withdraw contracts on file at the conclusion of the Hialeah-Park meeting. Those not called for will be turned over to the Florida State Racing Commission. Ten horses racing for J. C. Ellis have been vanned from Hialeah to Tropical Park. Trainer J. P. Mayberry has also moved over to the Gables track with twelve head, which he trains for various interests. Tom Shaw, prominent metropolitan club house commissioner, came down from Palm Beach to visit Hialeah Park. He will also be here for the Florida Derby. John I. Smith reports the arrival of a handsome bay colt by Westy Hogan, from Candy May at H. Teller Archibalds farm, The Plains, Virginia. The Archibald brood mares have foaled four colts and one filly since January 1. J. Y. Christmas and Johnny Zoeller were arrivals from Cuba. They will remain over until after the running of the Florida Derby. Ten horses accompanied the Lucky Tom and Renaissance shipment from New Orleans. Seven belonged to J. A. Keene and three to Mrs. George Reed. The Reed trio were consigned to Tropical Park to await the opening at that point.
