EL CAJON followed BETH HOGAN closely in the early stages and, taking a short lead in the last eighth, won under urging. BETH HOGAN acted as pacemaker and held on fairly well. BAG SMASHER was racing fast at the end. RED CHILI closed a gap and finished close up. TOMMIE KIRNAN attempted to run out on the stretch turn and his rider was forced to take hold on him to keep him straight. THE DAGO tired in the stretch. NIGHT FLASH and LAKELAND quit badly. PING COATES was in close quarters in the stretch.
