FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES $ $ The stewards ordered the further entry of S. N. Holmans Clarence Le Bus refused. The nine-year-old was saddled and led from the paddock with great difficulty for the second race Tuesday. Upon the testimony of William Woodward, Fair Grounds patrol judge, who sold the horse to J. W. Lawrence, his present owner, Silver Dawn II., was ordered scratched from Tuesdays first race on the grounds that he was not eligible. The race was for maidens I and Woodward testified that the horse won several races in England. Miss N. Conlan, which came out of the closing race yesterday in a sore condition, was reported to have sustained a slight bow, by W. F. Lutz, son of the trainer of the W. J. Palmer filly. Apprentice J. Neel escaped with a few cuts and bruises in his fall from Dextro in the seventh race Tuesday, but will not accept mounts for several days. J. H. Burke, who Went down in the same accident, was back in colors today. Following the close here H. Cavanaugh will ship seven horses back to Lexingtoru Upon arrival there he will take up nine others, the property of various owners and turned out the past winter. Chu Chu, My Baroness and others among the horses D. A. Headley has at the Fair; Grounds are to be sold and the several to be retained go to Lexington from here. J. H. Houghland, president of the Tennessee Breeders Association and prominent Knoxville attorney, was an arrival and will visit a few days at the Fair Grounds.
