MARSCH ELATED WITH HORSES Chicago Owner Satisfied With Present Condition of Eacers- -Weant Band Arrives at Farm. LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 26. John Marsch, Chicago contractor and owner of a pretentious racing stable quartered at Churchill Downs, returned to his home Friday noon. He was well pleased with the excellent health of his horses and the splendid shape for racing that trainer Phil Reuter has his stock. Jake Lowenstein sent Over Shady and Bugs Leary, which raced in Havana during the winter to the farm of Mrs. T. M. Murphy, to be rested up. John Walters, who for years trained the horses of George Hendrie, was a visitor at the Downs. He will have no horses to campaign this year for the Canadian breeder and turfman. Tommy Taylor, trainer of Cathop, R. M. Eastmans Derby colt, is reported to be improving so fast that he will be able to leave the infirmary about Sunday or Mori-day. Walter Taylor is looking after Cathop and the other horses in the Mrs. E. L. Swikard stable during his brothers illness. W. C. Weant shipped Matadi, Mr. Dick, Screen Idol, Gloriana, Frankie, May Be Silent, Doreen M., and Serette to Churchill Downs from Florida. With the horses of the Oakland Farm Stable came two of James Greens horses, Booters Town and Cappo Queen. They were stabled at the Downs in the barn that the Marsch horses are occupying. Mrs. W. C. Weant saw these horses put up on their arrival from the South in charge of Charlie Brown. Mrs. Weant will send in from the farm Judge Primrose, a stake winner of last year, Flying Home, Oslo, Jessie Carey, Judge Peak, Cela and Clarence V., which have been turned out at the farm all winter.
