i J , i : ! ! . ] WOODBINE PARK NOTES | Thomas M. Glassco arrived from Windsor with Pat Gaiety and the two juveniles Messtallup and Babe Gaiety. The latter is a filly by Chink, from the good producing mare Marion Gaiety. The first shipment from New York was unloaded Thursday and was made up of Poets Dream, Frank Fullen, St. Tuscan, Caryldon, Big Blow, Sun Man and Celeritas, which are being trained by W. G. Campbell. Cliff Hastings, who also shipped from Jamaica, was allotted stalls at the Ontario Jockey Club course. His string is made up of Little Gyp, Valour II. and a two-year-old. Ed Springer brought along Howee and Wrack Royal, which are stabled at Thorn-cliffe. P. B. Codd brought along Menelek, Medicine Boy and Spectacular. Codd is training the latter for H. Neusteter. Nat Ray, a Torontonian who was without a peer as a steeplechase pilot a decade or so ago, is bringing a string of thoroughbreds to Woodbine for the first time in many years. Ray will be stabled back of the Seagram Stable and will bring along members of the Wedgemere Farm Stable, which include Blanton, Golden Buck, Sea Mistress, Welterweight, Why Wait, Wiz Widow, Blaze White, Party Boots, Wolf Run and Zanwell to race in the silks of Mrs. Nat Ray. Latest reports from the Hamilton Jockey Club course are to the effect that H. C. Hatchs Kings Plate candidate, Easter Hatter, working in company with the juvenile Meany, which was purchased during the Florida season, were sent three furlongs in :34% with the Mad Hatter three-year-old well in advance of his work companion. This move was followed up by an impressive mile trial the next day. It was the consensus of opinion of horsemen that witnessed his works that the one that beats the Hatch candidate will be returned winner of the old classic.
