PIMLICOS YEARLING SHOW J. W. Y. Martins Black Colt by Sun Flag — Unfurled Judged Best Youngster Shown. BALTIMORE, Md., May 13.— Despite inclement weather, the Maryland Jockey Club j yearling show was carried out as arranged Thursday morning in the paddock of the Pimlico track. The show, sponsored by the Jockey Club for thoroughbred yearlings foaled in the Old Line State, attracted a large gathering and the judges were Adm. Cary T. Grayson, Preston M. Burch and William Dupont Jr. The Maryland Jockey ; Club donated ,000 as the awards and the money was divided into two classes. One thousand dollars for the colt division and an equal amount for the filly division. In addition Mr. Howard Bruce offered a piece ; of plate for the best yearling in both classes ; ! and it was awarded to J. W. Y. Martins black colt by Sun Flag — Unfurled. There were twenty-six entrants paraded before the judges in this particular event. * Second honors went to Golden Vein, a roan colt that was shown by Dr. L. H. Tubbs. Third went to a grey, unnamed colt by Sir ; Greysteel — Calne Lady, that was shown by S. W. Labrot, and fourth was the prize for , a chestnut colt by Claptrap — Fair Monica, also unnamed and shown for L. E. Keiffer. In the filly division thirty-one of the fair ; sex were judged and it saw an unnamed daughter of Constitution — Joaquina and a chestnut in color receiving premier honors , for W. J. Demoss, owner of the Ridgeview Farm, at Gittings, Md. Leslie E. Keiffers „ unnamed bay filly won second prize. Third | went to another of the L. E. Keiffer misses when a bay daughter of Claptrap — Dorothy Whitmore outfigured Janon Fisher Jr.s i * brown unnamed daughter of Constitution — Bylora. «
