HIGH SHOT, easily best, was shut off soon after the start, came again when clear and was again impeded while racing strongly in the stretch, but won under hard urging. EMERY, close up from the start, was in close quarters, but finished gamely. RED COMET finished fast. DUCK SOUP closed a gap. MUTAU was forced to pull up in the stretch. MISS CORINNE saved ground all the way and finished well. PETERKIN met interference on the stretch turn, but went wide in the stretch. AHRA WANNA began slowly and closed a gap. EL CAJON quit badly. DON ALVARO showed good early speed and, although holding on gamely, could not withstand the winner. PARAWICK saved ground. HARRY FRANK finished resolutely. SUN B. tired. BOYD McGEE was cut off while racing close up on the stretch turn. LONG RUN gained ground steadily on the outside and, overtaking ROYAL YEOMAN in the stretch, wore down the latter and took a short lead in the final sixteenth. ROYAL YEOMAN took command on the first turn and held on gamely. RICIIU raced on the outside throughout and closed well. VOLTEAR went very wide on the first turn and again lost much ground in the stretch, but closed a big gap. VOWED VENGEANCE was blocked on the stretch turn. MY COMPANION tired. HARRY H. BELL quit. LAKELAND was forced to pull up on the first turn.
