V t BELMONT TURF NOTES [ ยง Trainer Joe Bauer states that Universe is recovered and was walked for the first time yesterday. Trainer Al Gordon stated that Sweeping Light was declared out of the Belmont Stakes. The colt injured his foot in a trial for the Derby, and Gordon has hopes of having him back to racing at Saratoga. James Gaffneys Irenes Bob was jumped on and cut down in the running of the Toboggan, and will be on the shelf for some time.
