GOVERNMENT TAX IN EFFECT HOMEWOOD, 111., June 21. Horsemen, jockeys, municipal employes out on official business, and bona fide employes of the Washington Park Jockey Club, were the only.persons at Washington Park today who did not feel the new government tax levy on admissions. Cash patrons, persons with courtesy or complimentary badges and tickets, active representatives of the press, telegraph operators working at the track and others paid- the ten per cent tax. As the regular admission charge of .70 to the Washington Park club house included fifty cents government tax, which has applied to admissions of or more for some years, the fee to that enclosure was not effected by the new levy.
