The regular feature of the day is the Grab Bag Handicap, for juveniles, over the three-quarters route. Of these, Joseph E. Wideners The Pelican is the top weight with 126 pounds as his burden. Grand Time, from the stable of William Ziegler, Jr., comes next with a burden of 125 pounds, and third in the weights is William Woodwards Balios, which recently showed excellent form. On through the lot of fifteen named in the overnight list, the weights scale down to 106 pounds assigned to Did She, and there is every prospect for the race producing an excellent contest. Then there is the George Washington Handicap as another excellent race on the holiday card. It is a test of a mile and A. C. Bostwicks Mate is scheduled to return to competition with 125 pounds as his assignment. He is opposed by Walter M. Jeffords Ironclad at 111, C. V. Whitneys Halcyon, 114, and John Mcphersons Glastonbury at 106 pounds. All four have been coming up to the race excellently and it is a contest that is sure to attract interest. A steeplechase; a condition sprint of three-quarters; a claiming race at a mile, and a dash for juvenile maidens completes the card.
