BRILLIANT CLOSING CARD CRETE, 111., Oct. 5. With the outlook for a fast track if, of course, no more rain falls, racing secretary William H. Shelley hopes to arrange the outstanding program of the meeting for the closing offering of the Lincoln Fields meeting Saturday. The Marquette Handicap, for three-year-olds and over, one mile and a sixteenth, and the Au Revoir Handicap, seven-eighths, for two-year-olds, are the principal races on the closing day card, which will embrace the usual eight events. The Cherry Hill Golf Purse, a condition race for all ages, and to be run at three-quarters, is the best of the races that will surround the features on the card. Entries for both the Marquette Handicap and Au Revoir Handicap will close Thursday, with weights and acceptances at the usual time Friday morning.
